HOW TO FLASH BACK TO STOCK USING PV3 or PV4

Instructions for Flashing Your Vehicle Back to the Stock Factory Tune File Using Dynojet PV3 or PV4

To ensure a dealership, service center, or technician can communicate with your vehicle using the BUDS computer system, Or any other diagnostics tool follow these detailed steps to flash your vehicle back to its stock factory tune file.

Always flash your vehicle back to stock settings before bringing it in for any service work. Once flashed to stock (.stk), disconnect and remove the PV3 or PV4 device and its wiring.

OTHER DIAGNOSTICS TOOLS CAN NOT TALK TO YOUR BIKE UNLESS IT IS ON THE STOCK FACTORY (.stk) TUNE FILE.

General Guidelines For PV3 And PV4 -

  • 1. Always flash the vehicle to stock (.stk) before any service work.
  • 2. Remove the Dynojet device and wiring after flashing the stock tune.
  • 3. Follow the steps for your specific Dynojet device (PV3 or PV4).

Using Dynojet PV3

Preparation

  • 1. Ensure the vehicle is powered down before connecting or disconnecting the PV3.
  • 2. Connect the PV3 to the vehicle's diagnostic port.

Flashing Steps

1. Power on the vehicle:

  • Ensure the kill switch is in the run position.
  • Turn the key to the on position.
  • If the vehicle has a key fob, keep it close to the bike.
  • Do not start the engine.

2. Access the PV3 menu:

  • On the PV3 home screen, press the back arrow or the big enter button (large rectangle button).
  • Navigate to the Flash Tune section using the arrow keys and select it by pressing the enter button.

3. Select the stock tune file:

  • Locate the file ending in .STK (stock factory tune file).
  • Highlight the file and press the enter button.

4. Flash the stock tune:

  • Follow the on-screen prompt to begin the flash process.
  • Once started, let the PV3 complete the process (approximately 8–10 minutes).
  • Avoid pressing any buttons on the PV3 or vehicle during this time.

5. Complete the process:

  • When the flash is 100% complete, power off the vehicle.
  • Allow the vehicle to sit powered down for at least 2 minutes to reset the ECU.
  • Disconnect the PV3 from the diagnostic port.

Verification: (Optional)

  • Reconnect the PV3, go to the Flash Tune section, and review the list of tune files.
  • The stock tune file (ending with .STK) will have an asterisk (*), indicating it is active.
  • Once verified, remove the PV3 and cables.

Your vehicle is now reverted to the stock factory tune and ready for service.

Using Dynojet PV4

Preparation

1. Ensure the vehicle is powered down before connecting or disconnecting the PV4.

2. Connect the PV4 to the vehicle's diagnostic port.

Flashing Steps

1. Power on the vehicle:

  • Ensure the kill switch is in the run position.
  • Turn the key to the on position.
  • Do not start the engine.

2. Open the Dynojet PV4 smartphone app:

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  • Open the app and tap Scan at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select your PV4 from the list to connect.

3. Select the stock tune file:

  • Navigate to the Flash Tune section in the app.
  • Locate the file ending in .STK (stock factory tune file).
  • Select the file and tap Flash Tune.

4. Flash the stock tune:

  • Set your smartphone near the PV4 and avoid interacting with the phone, vehicle, or PV4 during the process (approximately 8–10 minutes).
  • The app will display a message once the process is complete.

5. Complete the process:

  • Turn off the vehicle and allow it to sit powered down for at least 2 minutes to reset the ECU.
  • Disconnect the PV4 and close the app.

Final Steps:

After completing the flashing process for either device, your vehicle will be running on the stock factory tune. A dealership, service center, or technician will now be able to communicate with your vehicle using the BUDS system or any other diagnostic tools.

The PV3 and PV4 can store numerous tune files. You can always re-flash your bike back to your Custom tune or downloaded tune file once the servicing is complete.
