CAN-AM RYKER - THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THROTTLE CONTROL DEVICE AND A CUSTOM TUNING DEVICE
CAN-AM RYKER, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THROTTLE CONTROLLING DEVICE AND A CUSTOM TUNING DEVICE.
DYNOJET Throttle Commander, these types of devices will give you an adjustment , on fly, of your throttle response. They do not improve horsepower or torque. They get rid of the lag / hesitation that is felt when you grab the throttle and rip it full throttle or even just giving it a little bit of throttle. These devices are an amplifier that goes in between the throttle at the hand grip and the throttle at the bikes onboard computer. (ECU)
Custom tuning can do all of this and a lot More. Obviously it's a couple hundred dollars more to do the tuning and purchase a tuning device like the Dynojet PV3 or PV4. However in the tuning you can lower the fan temperatures, adjust the maximum torque and maximum load settings. Custom tuning also adjusts the AFR and the VE tables, the ignition timing... So if you're looking for more horsepower and more torque then custom tuning would be the way to go. If you've added anything to your bike like an exhaust system, headers, high flow air filter, modified air box, modified air intake scoop, or ram air intake system then custom tuning is what you have to do to make the bike actually run correctly. These bikes already run lean from the factory. When you change parts like this the bike has to be tuned in order for it to not only get the maximum performance out of those new parts but in order to run correctly with those new parts.
There is nothing wrong with Dynojet throttle Commander. These are devices. You just have to understand what the difference is between these types of devices and custom tuning. If you're just looking for a better throttle response then this device is for you.
With a custom tune if you're on the 900cc model bikes you have the option to change drive modes. In the custom tuning from BLR TUNING each drive mode is changed dramatically. With modes like sport mode and rally mode being turned up to the max, while Eco mode is baby mode with a much less sensitive throttle, and then Eco mode off being right in the middle. If you have a Dynojet throttle Commander, you can make these changes on the fly whenever you want but your bike is not going to be optimized for that new exhaust that you put on it. So these are just things to keep in mind and take into consideration when you're trying to decide what you want to do. On the 600 models in the custom tuning the throttle response is turned up but not so extreme that the bike is unrideable.
So as you can see with a custom tune using the Dynojet PV3 or PV4 through BLR TUNING you are getting much more bang for your buck. Not only will you have a more snappy throttle response but you'll have all these other bells and whistles that come along with it.
THE DYNOJET PV4 OR PV3 can also clear and reset CVT belt maintenance codes, it can read and clear diagnostics codes. You can set up the gauge screens and view real-time data while the device is hooked up to the vehicle. These devices can also be used on multiple vehicles with only owning one device by purchasing a license file / TOKEN from Dynojet.
You can run a CUSTOM TUNE USING PV4 OR PV3 with a DYNO JET THROTTLE COMMANDER installed as well.
BLR TUNING Even has a dedicated ryker Performance section where you can find All of these devices and much more.
